Chaeyeon (채연) is a South Korean singer and vocalist of the girl group DIA, and later I.O.I until January 2017.
In 2016, she temporarily withdrew from the group to participate in the survival show Produce 101. She ranked seventh and became a member of the girl group I.O.I. On May 11, 2016, it was confirmed that she would be re-joining DIA for their comeback in June. Later, on October 17, 2016, she joined I.O.I for the last time for their album Miss Me?.
Trivia
During the course of Produce 101, she received the nickname "Stunning Visuals" because of her appearance seems to captivate the audience. In fact, during the third evaluation in the show, the trainers commented on the fact that she seems more of the center than Jieqiong was, even though Jieqiong was assigned to center position.
Chaeyeon was a trainee for 4 months, if including Produce 101, then it will be 8 months.
