Song Heejin (송희진) is a South Korean singer-songwriter and producer under Solcire Music. She is in a music production group called Solcire.

She debuted as a soloist under C9 Entertainment on October 2, 2015 with the single album "To Reach You" She was the leader of the girl group GOOD DAY and a pre-debut member of the girl group REDSQUARE.

Career[]

2013–2017: Superstar K5, Solo debut, GOOD DAY, The Unit[]

In August 2013, Heejin first appeared in the public eye as a contestant on the competitive survival show, Superstar K5. She made in the top 3 ranks, but was eliminated prior to the finale.[1] As one of the top contestants, Heejin got to release the original song, "Superhit Soul Song", on January 23, 2014.[2] Sometime after the show, she became a trainee under C9 Entertainment.

On October 2, 2015, Heejin made her debut as a singer under C9 Entertainment with her first single album "To Reach You".

Two years later, on July 11, 2017, she was announced as a member of C9 Entertainment's newest girl group GOOD DAY.[3] They debuted on August 30, 2017, with their first mini album All Day Good Day.[4]

Later that year, she became a contestant on KBS 2TV's reality survival show The Unit. She was eliminated in Episode 13 after ranking 28th place.[5]

2018–present: Beginnings as a producer, RESQUARE[]

GOOD DAY disbanded sometime in 2019, since then, Heejin has moved onto being a music producer and lyricist as a member of a production group called Solcire in its studio Solcire Studio (now Solcire Music).

Sometime in early-2020, Heejin was set to debut in the girl group REDSQUARE alongside former GOOD DAY bandmates Kim Jiwon, Kim Chaeyoung, Hwang Nayoon and Kim Yehyeon. However she left prior to their debut. Her silhouette remain in various cuts of the music video. She was subsequently replaced by Lina.[6]

Heejin's first works as a music producer began with the production of the mini album Layers for Ong Seong Wu which was released on March 25, 2020.

On November 25, 2020, Heejin was featured in a collaboration duet song, titled "Alone In This World", released by Young K of DAY6.[7]

In March 2021, Heejin began a personal music production project to release music every Friday through her YouTube account.[8] The first song of the project, "GET OUTTA MY" was released on March 5. It was followed up with "Dirt", "Tylenol (3x A Day)", "Fly Like Butterflies", "Shade (Paint A Picture)", "Dancing In The Moonlight", "Question Mark" and a demo version of "Enough Just As You Are".[9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16]

Between March and May, Heejin was one of the lead producers and lyricists for the release of "Unnatural" for WJSN and "Surf" for TO1.[17][18]

On June 1, 2021, Heejin announced the release of her first digital studio album, Soda.[19] The album was officially released on June 10 and contains all the previously self-released songs she published on her YouTube with the addition of new track "Soda" and the full version of "Enough Just As You Are".[20]

Personal life[]

On October 10, 2020, Heejin got married to Kevin Oppa (Cho Taeyeon), who is a former member of the band Crackshot (then known as 'Mr.Cho').[21] Kevin Cho is also a producer of Solcire and the couple frequently work together.
