Moon Jongup (문종업), also known simply as Jong Up, is a South Korean singer-songwriter under MA Entertainment. He is a former member of the boy group B.A.P.
He made his solo debut on May 7, 2020 with the single album "Headache".
Career[]
2012–2019: B.A.P[]
He made his debut as a member of B.A.P on January 26, 2012 with the single album "Warrior".
On February 17, 2019, TS Entertainment stated that the four remaining members of B.A.P, after the departure of Bang Yong Guk in August 2018, and Zelo in December 2018, have all elected to not renew their contracts with agency.[1]
2019–2020: New agency, and solo debut[]
On November 21, 2019, it was announced that he had recently signed an exclusive contract with The Groove Company as a soloist.[2]
On April 21, 2020, a teaser image was released revealing his first release under his new company. The single album, "Headache", was released on May 7.[3]
2021: "Find", Us[]
On June 24, 2021, Big Ocean ENM dropped a teaser image for Jongup's first mini album, Us, set to release on July 8.[4] "Find" was pre-released on July 1.[5]
2023: Peak Time, new agency, Some[]
On February 15, 2023, he was revealed as a contestant on JTBC's Peak Time and took part in TEAM 24:00.[6] The group won third place.[7]
On May 22, it was revealed that he had signed an exclusive contract with MA Entertainment.[8]
On October 5, a teaser was dropped for Jongup's second mini album, Some.[9] The next day, M.A Entertainment revealed that the album will be released on October 30.[10]
