Yoon (윤; previously known as Seungyoon (강승윤)) is a South Korean singer-songwriter and actor. He is the leader of the boy group WINNER.
As a soloist, he goes by his full name Kang Seung Yoon.
Early life[]
Yoon was born in Busan, South Korea on January 21, 1994 and raised as an only child by his single mother.[3] He revealed that his IQ was 141 and that he was particularly good in mathematics.[4]
Yoon graduated from Busan High School of Arts with a major in classic guitar on February 9, 2012.[5]
Career[]
He was a contestant on Superstar K2 and finished fourth overall. He signed with YG Entertainment in 2011 before making his solo debut with the single "It Rains" on July 16, 2013. He then participated in the survival reality show WIN: Who Is Next, competing as Team A, who won the competition and would debut as WINNER.

On May 24, 2023, YG Entertainment announced that Yoon will be enlisting in the military as an active duty soldier on June 20.[6] He will be discharged on December 19, 2024.[citation needed]
