Buddy (버디) also known as Kong Yoojin (formerly known as Kongyoo) is a South Korean singer and teacher. She is a former member of the girl group BONUSbaby.
Career[]
2017–2018: BONUSbaby[]
She debuted as a member of BONUSbaby on January 1, 2017 with the group's first single "Urikiri".
On September 9, 2018, it was announced that Kongyoo would be leaving the group to focus on her studies.[2]
2019–2022: The Korea Times and Music Teaching[]
In 2019, an interview was published in The Korea Times[3] in which she explained the reasons for quitting the idol industry. During the interview, she exposed the mistreatment she endured from her former company, Maroo Entertainment. Later on, she also releaved she was majoring music to be a Music Teacher, to help people and give advices about the music indsutry.
After graduating (circa-2020) she worked on multiple Music Schools.
2023: Solo Debut[]
In September, 16th 2023 she solo debuted under the stage name Buddy with the song 깜빡이.[4][5] Troughout the year she also joined a new Music School and works there as a Vocal Coach under her real name.
